Meandering tape is pinned for eyelets. Twisted half stitch is made in internal curves.

3 | TWISTED TAPE 2

Lace size is 178 cm and width 17 cm. Material is flax 33 x 2. Technique is cloth stitch tape with closed part in cloth stitch and twist in borders.
Twisted cloth stitch is made in internal bow. If using thicker material, edge can be done for two pairs without twisting.

4 | TURNED LACE
Southern Bohemia, Red Mountains, Moravia, Silesia. Lace was made for sacral vests and it is the replica from the publication M. Smolková, R. Bíbová: LACES AND LACEMAKING OF SLAVONIC PEOPLE IN BOHEMIA, MORAVIA, SILESIA AND HUNGARIAN SLOVAKIA (1908). The lace belongs to the group of intermittent tape laces and it is also in the depository of Čelákovice museum in different designs.
Replica was made on the pattern copied from the book and photograph by Dana Vařilová.
Material is cotton number 80, tape is made of 8 pairs, turn is made of 4 pairs. Tape is cloth stitch, pinned for two pairs, necessary is often joining by crochet hook. Turn is springle - tape that runs over itself. It is made by special way, where pairs are not twisted inside the bow, it is made for two pairs but no pin is pinned.

5 | TWISTED TURNED LACE
Čelákovice number is 30768. Mrs. Koutníková did not write anything to this lace or the description was lost. But she wrote to the lace of the same design "Bohemia or Netherlands, old Czech ´Ringelverk´ turned lace with ornament, sacral work of nothern Bohemia or Netherlands, probably 1625", next notice at the edge "no 1625, end of the 17th and 18th cent., edge lace." A notice is written at the next same lace, that It was made in Red Mountains, sacral work of the 17th century. Laces are specified by turns, that time to time come over to wider tape with a piece of half stitch.

Material is thin point ground yarn of older stocks, 7 pairs.

6 | MILAN LACE
Lace with Čelákovice number 30730. Mrs. Koutníková text "Bohemia, Red Mountains - copy of old Milan lace".

Pattern is so long that the report repeats in mirror after 32 cm. Lace width is 5 cm. Material is cotton number TEX 10x3, 10 pairs. Tapes are cloth stitch, pinned for two pairs and crocheted.

7 | VALENCIA LACE OF BOHEMIA

The lace sizes are 178 cm and width 17 cm. Material is flax 33x2. Technique is cloth stitch tape with closed part in cloth stitch and twist in borders that comes over to Valencia ground, two pairs return to complete the width.

8 | SCALLOP LACE
Eastern Bohemia, Vamberk and surroundings. Lace made at the diagonal basis in torchon ground. It was made at pinned patterns that are owned by majority of local lacemakers as estates from ancestors. We can declare and document years 1890 – 1920, when the laces were made, but even older probably exist.

Material is cotton sewing needle (approx. number 60), number of pairs is 11. Technique torchon and cloth stitch.

9 | TAILS
The lace is made at old pinned patterns that are estates of a lacemaker from Nymburk (they were made in years 1890 - 1920, but they are probably older). We cannot determine the design specifically by holes so we used other sources to specify details (publications, laces, some pinned patterns with drawing etc.) So you can lace for example torchon ground with different joins in cloth stitch, you can change half stitch for cloth stitch and use gimp or not. There are more pinned out patterns of this source so we used different techniques for different ways. This pattern had also one ready piece of lace so the reconstruction is strict.

Material is flax TEX 33/2, number of pairs 11. Technique is cloth stitch, torchon ground and spiders of six pairs. The lace belongs to torchon laces torchon, design is made on the diagonal grid.

10 | SCALLOPS WITH SPIDERS
The lace is made at old pinned patterns that are estates of a lacemaker from Nymburk (they were made in years 1890 - 1920).

Material is thicker thread, cotton. Number of pairs 14. Technique of cloth stitch scallops and torchon ground with simple 1x twisted cloth stitch pinned to the centre is brighten up with spiders of sex pairs.

11 | FANS AND SQUARES
Eastern Bohemia, Vamberk and surroundings. The lace is made on diagonal basis in torchon ground. It was made on pinned out patterns. We can declare years 1890 – 1920, when the laces were made.

21 | KYJOV LACE
Eastern Bohemia, Vamberk. Lace was made per order to Kyjov garb and was neither typical nor usual. Mrs. Jedlinská made it in 1986 for the garb. She adjusted the pattern of the former design.

Material is black and white pearl thread number 6. Number of pairs is 19 black + 1,5 white. One pair of pearl is run as inserted, one white thread of dots is added in straight vertical part. The design is made on diagonal torchon ground, twice twisted without pinning to the centre. The next motive is half stitch square, cloth stitch bows with closed part in cloth stitch and twist pinned for eyelets, cloth stitch triangles among bows.

The lace is deposited in the Museum of Orlické hory in Rychnov nad Kněžnou. It is the replica of the lace made by Antonie Hynková about 1920. Yarn is hand made by her mother Mrs. Stejskalovou from Liberk at Rychnov nad Kněžnou.

Material number 40, 22 pairs of bobbins. Technique chains, leafs and cloth stitch, back stitch in edges. Joining between leafs and chains are double cloth stitch and chain balls.

29 | TWIRL
Eastern Bohemia, Vamberk or Ústí nad Orlicí. The lace is known from many Czech regions. It was made also in Southern Bohemia, was very popular in Krušné hory and it is known also in black lace. It is often published. Identical design was also noted and drawn M. Smolková and R. Bíbová in their publications. It is deposited in the Municipal museum in Čelákovice, offered in the catalogue of J.E. Günther in Karlovy Vary in 1910 etc. It sometimes differs in details (leafs, chains or picots might differ), but the character and main technique is same. This lace is a replica of the a piece of lace found in a garret.

Material is silk (strength is approximately number 30). Number of pair is 18. Technique is cloth stitch, leafs, chains and twisted pairs. Always pinned for eyelets.

30 | SPIDERY
Lace is made on the old pinned patterns that are of the inheritance of Nymburk lacemaker. (they were made in years 1890 - 1920).

Material is flax, TEX 33 x 2. Number of pairs 20. Technique of spiders of six pairs, cloth stitch and twisted pairs, which in fact create small torchon in edges. Edges are strengthened with cloth stitch tape pinned for two pairs.

Original lace of unknown origin, it was washed and stretched. Width of the lace is 8 cm. It is not a reconstruction. It originates approximately from the beginning of the 20th century. Laces of the identical character come from Klenčí pod Čerchovem, from Western Bohemia. Laces of this kind are very firm. Similar laces are also in depository of Čelákovice museum in B. Koutníková collection. Photograph presents similar lace as wristband border. Text: "19th century, Bohemia".

The lace is from the publication Names of Czech and Slovak laces of Haná; 19th cent.
Reconstruction was made by Přemysl Knap.
Material is mercerised cotton number 80; 34 pairs; technique: virgin ground stitch, cloth stitch, half stitch; submission: multiple pair ground lace; width of the lace 5,2 cm.
The ground is opened virgin ground stitch, which pairs come over to motives of goose and big wheel. Motives are bordered by twisted pair and made of cloth stitch. Occasional twisting of pairs separates motive spread geometrically. One edge is pinned for two pairs nad made of half stitch with closed part and twist and cloth stitch tape, the second edge is pinned for eyelets and creates small eyelets.

Rose ground is double twisted, joins are made of twisted half stitch. Pairs come over to half stitch or rose ground ovals bordered by gimp.

37a | ČERNÁ CHANTILLA 2
Krajka z depozitáře Městského muzea v Čelákovicích (11600; 208x2 cm). Sbírka krajek Boženy Koutníkové, u krajky je text: "1. pol.19.st. francouzská chantilla".
Ve sbírce jsou zařazeny i krajky jiných oblastí. Byly sebrány v Čechách i mimo republiku. Chantilla se však v malé míře v Čechách také paličkovala, i když zřejmě jen na zakázku. Nevžila se a nebyla obvyklá.
Rekonstrukci provedla Dana Mihulková.
Materiál je vláčková nit obarvená na černo a černá perlovka.17 párů tenkých + 2 silné. Technika je tylová půda, polohod, zuby a pikotky. Rovný okraj je píchán za dva páry je u něj veden jeden svislý pár mulinky technikou vkládání. Druhý okraj je píchán na pikotky.

Eastern Bohemia, Vamberk and surroundings. Point ground lace was made on pinned out patterns, often on regular net of holes without pre-drawn design. Lacemakers made it by rote. Many local lacemakers own these pinned patterns as inheritance. We can declare years 1890 – 1920, when the laces were made, but they are probably even older.
Reconstruction was made by Anna Halíková.
Materials are cotton sewing silk number 10x3 and pearl thread number 6. Number of pairs is 12 + 2,5 pairs of double pearl thread. One pair (edge vertical) is run as inserted, three threads as gimp. Technique is point ground, balls and scallops.

40 | SOBESLAV LACES
Point ground laces of Soběslav garb. It is not replica but original. Laces are only washed and stretched. They are from 1920.
Material is point ground thread and pearl thread.
Width of the lace is 6,5 cm, motive was very popular, it is called Fajnováč (Fine) - big scallop and this name is the same for the point ground with a motive of pear, heart or rectangle. This design is with a heart. Similar patterns were noticed and drawn by M. Smolková and R. Bíbová in their publications, it appears with small differences in Vamberk surroundings and in B. Koutníkové collection in the Municipal museum in Čelákovice.
Number of pairs is 27 thin and 3 thick pairs. Technique: Point ground, cloth stitch, rose ground, balls, twisted pairs, scallops and gimp.

41 | SOBESLAV LACES
Point ground laces of Soběslav garb. It is not replica but original. Laces are only washed and stretched. They are from 1920.
Material is point ground thread and pearl thread.
Similar patterns were noticed and drawn by M. Smolková and R. Bíbová in their publications, it appears with small differences in Vamberk surroundings and in B. Koutníkové collection in the Municipal museum in Čelákovice.
Width of the lace is 3,5 cm, number of pair is 15 thin and 3 thick pairs. Technique: point ground, half stitch, twisted pairs and gimp.

Many local lacemakers own these pinned patterns as inheritance. We can declare years 1890 – 1920, when the laces were made, but they are probably even older. The motive was very popular and this name is the same for the point ground with a motive of pear, heart or rectangle. It was laces id different variations, it differed in motives widths and point ground net and other details such as number of balls, cloth stitch or half stitch motives etc. Identical patterns were noticed and drawn by M. Smolková and R. Bíbová in their publications. This lace was made also short time ago to Kyjov garb, to the cap and handkerchief.

One pair of pearl thread is run as inserted (edge vertical) and three pairs are laced by gimp technique that contours motives of heart, cloth stitch. Technique is point ground, cloth stitch, rose ground and scallops. Straight edge is pinned for two pairs with one vertical twisted pair, scalloped edge for eyelets.

45 | FAIN, BIG SCALLOP - PEAR
Eastern Bohemia, Vamberk and surroundings. Point ground lace was made on pinned out patterns, often on regular net of holes without pre-drawn design. Lacemakers made it by rote. Many local lacemakers own these pinned patterns as inheritance. We can declare years 1890 – 1920, when the laces were made, but they are probably even older. The motive was very popular and this name is the same for the point ground with a motive of pear, heart or rectangle. Identical patterns were noticed and drawn by M. Smolková and R. Bíbová in their publications.

Materials are cotton sewing silk number 10 x 3 and pearl thread number 6. Number of pairs are 42 thin, 4 pairs of double pearl thread and one added to each motive. One pair of pearl thread is run as inserted (edge vertical) and three pairs are laced by gimp technique that contours motives of pear. Technique is point ground, cloth stitch, balls, rose ground and scallops. Straight edge is pinned for two pairs, scalloped edge for eyelets.

Point ground lace, Bohemia. Reconstruction of drawing from the publication NAMES OF CZECH AND SLOVAK LACES, M. Štěpánková. The drawing originates from collections of M. Smolková and R. Bíbová, from 1913, from their unpublished publication PICTURE LIST. The former drawing is technically impracticable, it is corrigated with keeping the character.
Replica was made by Dana Mihulková.
Material is point ground thread fron old stocks (number approx. 120) and pearl thread number 6. Number of pairs 37 + 5 threads of gimp (2,5 pairs). Technique is point ground, cloth stitch, rose stitch, balls. Motives are contoured by gimp. one edge is pinned for two pairs, the second is scalloped and pinned for eyelets.

47 | METAL LACE 1
The lace is original of unknown origin. The photograph is from the Municipal museum in Čelákovice (number 12157; 90 x 2,5 cm.). Božena Koutníková lace collection, text at the lace: "18th cent. Bohemia".
The lace from the photograph is almost identical with ours and we can find some of them in the depository. Our lace is 3,7 cm wide.
Metal laces were used as decorations of wimples and sacral wimples, but mostly as borders of garb caps (Blata, Haná etc.). They were also used for noble dresses or sacral vests. They are golden or silver, they have also coins, beads or lames as decorations.
There were several types of metal yarns - thin yarn, wire, thin flat plate cut to 2 mm width or bulion (silk yarn twisted by thin metal plate) were used. Real gold was often replaced by false, so called Lyon. Laces were tapped on after making to set right and keep flat.
Material: 7 pairs of metal yarn of middle thickness, one buion thread and two flat lames. By character, it is the fan lace with technique of half stitch, inserted and twisted pairs.

The lace is a replica to Doudleby wedding cap according the original borrowed from the Southern Bohemia museum in České Budějovice. The photograph represents some similar laces from the Municipal museum in Čelákovice from Božena Koutníková lace collection.
Reconstruction was made by Ludmila Dominová.
Material: 10 pairs of thin golden yarn, 1 thick thread - bulion, 1 flat lame. Total number of pairs is 11. Technique of twisted pairs and leafs. The lame is blue and bulion red on the drawing.
Edges are pinned for eyelets, lame and bulion is laces by technique of thread insertion between twisted running pair.
The lace is tapped on at the end, it is set right and flat.
